TRUCK HISTORY
Debuting at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome on January 9, 2010, the Iron Man™ monster truck launched as part of the promotion of the Iron Man 2 Movie. This unique design was inspired by Stark Industries and the Iron Man franchise. The truck is equipped with a 1,500 horsepower supercharged 540 Merlin engine atop 6’ tall, 1,700 pound tires. Behind the wheel of this car-crushing machine is Monster Jam® veteran, Lee O’Donnell and new-comer Scott Buetow. O’Donnell has been a part of the Monster Jam family for years and has driven some of the most recognizable trucks on the circuit including Monster Mutt® and Blue Thunder®. Scott Buetow is a Monster Jam rookie for the 2011 season and has a long history of being involved in motorsports. In March 2010, the Iron Man monster truck made it’s first appearance at the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals. The truck lost to King Krunch® in the 1stround in the racing competition and placed 9th in freestyle with a score of 25. Iron Man held it’s own in it’s first year and won the hearts of Monster Jam’s most loyal fans. TRUCK HISTORY
Dennis Anderson came up with the concept for Grave Digger®, the sport’s marquee monster truck, back in 1981. Originally built out of an old 1957 Chevy Panel Wagon and parts that he scrounged from junkyards, the Grave Digger of today has grown by leaps and bounds. No longer do the trademark red headlights come off of old school buses, and the paint job has changed from a dull orange to the famous green and black flame motif we see today. Not only is Grave Digger the most famous monster truck in the world, it’s one of the most decorated as well. Anderson has won Monster Jam World Finals championships three times, capturing the racing title in 2004 and 2006, and the freestyle title in 2000. Right now, there are six Grave Digger monster trucks currently competing in Monster Jam, featuring one of the most solid driver line-ups anywhere. Besides creator Dennis Anderson, Chad Tingler, Rod Schmidt, Randy Brown, Gary Porter, Charlie Pauken, and Pablo Huffaker also pilot versions of the legendary machine.

TRUCK HISTORY
Perhaps the most striking truck on the Monster Jam® circuit, Maximum Destruction’s® body is officially classified as a “futuristic SUV”. Featuring an orange and silver paint job coupled with a low-to-the-ground, aerodynamic body style, it’s well-known that Max D is possibly the fastest truck in the sport. In fact, driver Tom Meents has been crowned Monster Jam World Racing Champion no less than four times, the most recent coming at the 10th Annual Monster Jam World Finals in 2009. But Meents isn’t just the master of speed; he’s quite the daredevil as well, claiming four Monster Jam World Freestyle Championships over his career. In fact, Tom is the only driver ever to win both titles in the same year, and he even managed to do that twice in a row! The Maximum Destruction fan base has grown so much in recent years that a second Maximum Destruction monster truck is now also touring. Look for Tom Meents and Grave Digger® driver Dennis Anderson to continue their on-track rivalry at Monster Jam events across the country and also on SPEED Channel.

TRUCK HISTORY

One of the first and only Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® trucks to be named after its driver, Madusa® is once again taking the Monster Jam circuit by storm. In 1999, Madusa (real name Debra Miceli), a multi-world champion in World WCW and WWF, decided to add Monster Jam to her long list of achievements. Madusa quickly became one of the most anticipated Monster Jam trucks to watch, as she was one of the only female drivers at the time. She rose to the top by winning her first Monster Jam World FinalsSM event as Freestyle Co-Champion in 2004. The following year, she took it all, being named the Monster Jam World Finals Racing Champion. Be sure to keep an eye on Madusa, as we expect nothing but great things to come from her in the future!

The original Wolverine Monster Jam truck became the Monster Jam World FinalsSM Racing Champion in 2003. The Wolverine Monster Jam truck was not in action for a few years after that but then made its triumphant return to the sport in 2012 with Alex Blackwell driving the machine to several victories and to another invitation to the Monster Jam World Finals. In 2013 former Grave Digger® crew chief Dustin Brown was named as the new driver of Wolverine and made an impressive debut as Brown and Wolverine were named Monster Jam Rookie of the Year in 2013. Wolverine always attracts long lines of fans at the Party in the Pits with its concept body incorporating the themes that make the Wolverine character so popular in Marvel Comics. Wolverine is known especially for those unbreakable, razor-sharp retractable claws and the distinctive yellow and blue color scheme.

TRUCK HISTORY
Captain America debuted at Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® in 2012, but the first comic book appearance of the “Super Solider” dates back to World War II when “Captain America #1” was released in March of 1941. The Captain America comic book character is noted for endurance, strength, and reaction time, all of which translate to the Captain America Monster Jam truck. Veteran Chad Fortune, who built his driving career most notably behind the wheel of Power Forward and SupermanTM, was tabbed to drive Captain America beginning with that 2012 debut. A former pro football player and wrestler, Fortune is one of the sport’s largest physical presences, a natural fit for the Captain America team with the comic character officially listed as standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds. After thrilling Monster Jam fans with another exciting freestyle performance, Fortune, like the comic book character, brandishes a red, white, and blue shield, the only weapon used by Captain America in Marvel Comics. Fortune then usually gives one of his Captain America Monster Jam fans that replica shield as the ultimate souvenir from the Super Soldier of Monster Jam.

TRUCK HISTORY
While the legend of Grave Digger® started in 1982, Dennis Anderson created the first Grave Digger Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® truck in 1986 by adding 66” truck tires. The second generation Grave Digger had a 1951 Ford panel. Anderson made it his own with a distinctive blue and silver paint job and included the logo for Currituck Grain Co., which is the company he was working for at the time. This newly evolved Grave Digger was nicknamed “The Legend” from inception and since then, the Grave Digger legacy has lived up to expectations. March 2010 marked the resurrection of this iconic vehicle when Anderson’s eldest son, Adam, debuted Grave Digger The Legend® to the delight of the sold-out crowd during an encore performance at the Monster Jam World Finals. Grave Digger The Legend is a replica of the 1986 version of the Grave Digger Monster Jam truck and is now a Monster Jam fixture. Grave Digger the Legend continued its streak of greatness by winning the 2013 Monster Jam World FinalsSM Racing Championship which gave Adam his second Monster Jam World Finals championship after piloting Taz to a World Freestyle Championship in 2008.

TRUCK HISTORY
Monster Energy entered the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® world in 2012 as a major team sponsor when Monster Energy debuted in Birmingham, Alabama. The machine that represents a high-profile product made a big splash right from the start as 2009 Monster Jam World FinalsSM Freestyle Champion Damon Bradshaw was tabbed to drive the awesome new piece with Bradshaw’s long-time crew chief, Coty Saucier, joining the Monster Energy team at the same time. Monster Energy made an immediate impact on the circuit, winning its first major stadium freestyle competition on January 14, 2012, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, and then winning the racing trophy in the same building the following day. Monster Energy is always a contender to win in both racing and freestyle, as evidenced by the team’s impressive performance at Monster Jam World Finals XIII, in Las Vegas. In that 2012 battle for world titles, Monster Energy, in its first year of competition, advanced all the way through the racing bracket and into the championship race, falling to Max-DSM in the title race by .02 of a second, one of the closest Monster Jam World Finals Championship races in the sport’s history.
